The day started out like most Saturdays around here. Both older boys had games at the same time, so Dennis took Colin to soccer and Logan, Leah and I went to Evan's baseball game. Evan did great. He seems to enjoy baseball and is getting a grasp of the game. He played 1st base, 2nd base and short stop this week. This year they are doing outs, so he was happy to never get out during the game.
Colin did well in his game too (and scored a goal). His team won 7-0, I think. They would have probably won by more, but they aren't allowed to run up the score. Colin has a great team this year, they are all good, so they keep scoring a lot and being told to stop. Not sure how much he is going to grow this season if this keeps happening though.
In the afternoon we went to Monkey Joe's, a bounce house place, for Evan's party. He had about 10 classmates there to celebrate with him. Dennis made the decorations for his cake, but otherwise Monkey Joe's takes care of everything for the party.
Evan had a great time! The only bad thing that happened was when Colin and Evan ran into each other and both ended up with big knots on their heads. They both ended up sitting down with ice packs on them! I was just glad it was my own kids and not a kid whose parents had dropped them off!
After the party Dennis walked the boys over to the comic store, which was in the same shopping center, so they could get comic books. It was free comic book day.
When we got home Evan was eager to open up his gifts from his friends. Then we went over to our neighbors house whose daughter is also having a birthday this week. They had people over for cake (yes, my kids had 2 servings of cake today). Evan was so excited about his new presents that he actually walked back over to our house and played with his toys instead of getting cake. It may also have something to do with a girl across from us that showed up. She is in Evan's class and likes to chase him. Oh to be a Kindergartner again...
