Gymnastics has come to an end. Evan decided he wanted to try Tae Kwan Do instead of another season of gymnastics. He has a buddy in his class doing it, so I think that is where he got the idea. I've always been a little worried of putting little boys in Tae Kwan Do, for the exact reason of Evan announcing, "I want to learn to fight!" I know that they really stress building confidence, discipline, and self control, so I am hoping that is what he gets out of it instead of just learning to fight.
Anyway, we took him to his trial classes which included a private lesson and a group lesson. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was more fun to watch than I thought it would be. The kids were real cute and Evan loved it. So, we went ahead and signed him up. Its a year commitment (twice a week), but you can pick any two classes to come to each week, so there is a lot of flexibility in working around other activities.
Colin's soccer season has also come to an end. They won their first 2 games of their tournament and Colin scored the tying goal of their third game (it was 1:1, but then they lost in the shoot out). Overall, they came in 3rd place out of 24 teams, so that is pretty cool! I was going to sign him up for indoor soccer next, but the season goes right through when the baby is due and I thought that might be tough to commit to. So, we might sign him up for the second winter session that starts mid January or just wait until Spring soccer.
