Today I got the call that every parent hopes never happens. Actually, in all honesty, when I saw on the caller ID that it was Colin's school I thought maybe Colin had caught something from Evan and was sick, so I really wasn't panicking. Instead the nurse said "Mrs. McLaughlin, your son took a bad tumble on the playground (this is where my stomach dropped), there is blood all over his clothes and jacket and we need you to bring a new outfit and coat". She went on to say that he was ok, but had gotten a bloody nose.
I had just put the two little ones down for a nap, so I quickly got them out of bed, put their coats on, and ran out of the house. I didn't even realize that Evan's hair was sticking straight up until Colin's teacher asked me if it was nap time, oops! I was walking down the hall to the clinic when Colin's class just happened to walk past me. Colin barely acknowledged me and was a bit annoyed when the teacher asked him if he wanted to talk to me. So, I asked if they were on their way to computer (his favorite part of Thursdays), and sure enough they were. I guess I am already second place to computers! Anyway, Colin is fine, supposedly he fell off the monkey bars and fell on to a kid that was running under them. With three boys, I am still waiting for the day that I am in the ER because of a broken bone, but so far that hasn't happened, thank goodness.
In other news...Evan is slowly getting better. The fever seems to be just about gone. But, his cough is still there so I started up some of his nebulizer treatments.
Oh and if I thought that keeping the house clean with a newborn was hard, I now have an active, curious 9 month old. It is much harder now!
