Welcome to my crazy life! As a mommy to 3 adorable boys my days are full of adventure and fun. I am realizing that time goes by so quickly and I don't want to forget all the cute things that the boys say and do. I hope that this blog will serve as a journal to record all those precious moments...

Moore's Visit And 1st Day Of Soccer

Dennis and I are definitely hooked on Settlers of Catan.  Even though I am horribly bad at it, it is a great game.  If only there were 4 of us, I think Dennis and I would play pretty regularly.  Dennis was supposed to have a poker night Saturday, but he got a text saying that the wife of the host had gone in to labor and poker night was cancelled.  So, we asked Julie and Phil if they wanted to stay in Richmond a second night.  We had a great day, we played outside a bit, went out for Mexican, and played a couple games of Catan after all the kids were in bed.  The boys had fun  playing with Alex and Katelyn.

A funny Evan story....Evan had his first soccer meet and greet.  It was up to the coaches if the teams would have a practice or just get information.  Well, Evan's team decided not to practice and Evan was sad because he was looking forward to it.  Anyway, I was talking to one of his friends parents and I realized I hadn't seen Evan in a while.  I turn around looking for him and he is in line with another team getting ready to kick the ball.  I start calling him and he just ignores me.  The other teams parents were all laughing as they were holding their video cameras getting ready to record their kids first practice.  The other teams coach just went with it and said "Ok, go Evan" and he blew his whistle.  Evan did not miss a beat and could care less that it wasn't his team, he took off with the ball with a huge smile on his face.  He was pretty sad when I pulled him away and told him again that wasn't his team.  He is counting the days until practice on Wednesday!

Chili.

Is the smell of chili a comforting smell or turn you off?  I was wondering this today as we got a last minute showing.  When our Realtor called to tell us we had a showing in a couple hours I said, "Uh oh".  She said, "What's wrong".  I told her that I had chili cooking in the slow cooker and the whole house smells like chili.  She told me to just leave it out and not worry about it, maybe it would bring us good luck.  Well, we haven't heard anything yet, so I am guessing it didn't bring us good luck, but we will see.

It was a boring day of frantically trying to get the house straight while watching Logan.  Luckily, he was pretty cooperative except that he fussed each time I left the room.  After we left the house I got a call that the showing was going to be later than expected, so I had even more time to try and kill with Logan.  It was his nap time so after hitting the mall, I let him fall asleep in the car and then I just drove around and read in my car.  I actually kind of enjoyed the silence.

This evening Dennis got to put his basketball skills to the test.  Colin's basketball practice was a kids vs parents game.  Supposedly, Dennis and Colin both scored some points.  However, I wasn't there to verify it, so I guess we will have to take their word for it.

I am looking forward to Julie's family coming tomorrow night.  They have a birthday party to go to Saturday in Richmond, so they are coming the night before and we are going to play a board game called Catan with them and another couple.  Dennis fell in love with Catan when they visited last time, so I got it for him for his birthday this year.  It should be a fun evening.

11 Months Old!

I can't believe later this month Logan will be 1 years old!  Time really does fly and with each kid it goes by faster and faster.  At 11 months old Logan is so much fun!  He loves to play peek a boo, wave and say "bye bye", and give kisses.  He is still pulling up, but doesn't seem to have much of an interest in walking.  I guess because he is such a good crawler he doesn't see a need for walking.

Logan is sleeping 7:30ish to 5:40ish.  He wakes up earlier than I would like, but I can not get him to stop crying unless I feed him and then I attempt to lay him back down.  He will play in bed for 10-20 minutes and then starts fussing again.  Oh well, at least he takes 2 good naps during the day 8:30ish-11ish and 1:30ish-4ish.  He goes to bed very easily most of the time.  He grabs his lovey, sticks his thumb in his mouth and goes to sleep.

He is eating 3 meals of table food.  He likes most foods except berries.  He hates me to feed him, so he is exclusively feeding himself.  He also nurses 4x/day and when he doesn't nurse he takes breast milk out of a cup.  1 more month and then we will move him to regular milk.

Overall, he is pretty good and easy.  He likes to go in the playroom and play with his brothers superheros and bat cave.  He also likes a specific yellow matchbox car, not sure why, but he always seems to find that one and put it in his mouth.

He does get in his moods where he only wants me.  And, when he fusses he is hard to soothe.  He has been battling an ear infection that won't go away.  So, after 2 failed antibiotics (one of which he got a rash from), he received a shot and now a followup antibiotic to try and clear it.  We are crossing our fingers this works or we will have to go to the ENT for tubes to clear it.

He is at a great age and we are all enjoying him very much!!!

Playing With Daddy and Logan Talking...

Well, nothing came of the showing.  Oh well, better luck next time.  Today was all about playing with Daddy.  After naps the boys had fun playing football with Dennis and this evening they all did some coloring.  Colin and I worked on his reading a couple times too.

Most exciting part of the day....Logan is talking!!!!  Well, actually it is only two words, Daddy and Bye Bye.  He is very cute when he waves and says "bye, bye".  We aren't completely sure he is referring to Dennis when he says Daddy, but we think he is.  Colin and Evan were slow talkers, so it is exciting to hear him say that much.

This is getting old.

This is getting old.  Our house has been on the market for 8 months.  After 3 months without a showing, I had almost forgotten what a pain showings are.  As much as we were surprised and excited last night to hear we were going to have a showing today, we knew that meant cleaning the house last night and this morning, while trying to keep the boys from touching anything or making bigger messes than we could clean.  Luckily, Dennis and I pretty much have it all down to a science.

I had a girls night in my neighborhood, so Dennis really helped me out by getting most of the work done while I was gone.  This morning while Logan napped we were able to finish it up.  As usual we left the house as soon as it was clean so that it would stay that way.  That made for a long day of trying to entertain the kids while we were gone.  We spent some time at Cheesecake factory and at the playground.  Colin then had a basketball game, which he did real well in.  He is hilarious to watch on Defense, he gets so in to it!!  Logan was especially good today.  Really, really, good.  And that was without an afternoon nap.

Anyway, we haven't heard anything from the showing, so I am thinking that might be a bad sign.  However, I am hoping this showing might be the start of things picking up.  One can hope, right??

Fears Of The Grocery Store.

I think my fear of taking babies to the grocery store started when Colin was a month or so old.  For the first two months of his life he cried all day.  Many days, if he was awake he was crying.  I remember having to go to the grocery store the first time with him and he just kept screaming.  So many people were looking at me and I know they were wondering why I wasn't picking him up.  But, I knew that picking him up wouldn't change anything so I was just trying to get in and out as quickly as I could.

Since then, I am very nervous that one of my babies will start crying at the grocery store and I won't be able to soothe them and I will have to finish shopping with a screaming baby.  Well, I am so thankful that Logan is so good at the grocery store.  Really, he is amazing.   He just looks around and stares at people, occasionally he will get tired and rest his head down on the cart, but he doesn't make a peep.  Today he enjoyed checking out a younger lady.  Yep, his eyes never left a cute 9 1/2 month old little girl the whole time we were in the produce section.  From the looks of things he has good taste.

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce...

Logan seems to be back to his happy self today.  He was full of smiles, laughs and slobbery kisses today!

I took Evan and Logan to the neighborhood playgroup today which had a bounce house party.  Evan had fun bouncing and both boys enjoyed eating the snacks.  They got super worn out and both took a 3 hour nap this afternoon.  It couldn't have been a happier day!
